The Community Closet Thrift Store

The Community Closet is a new project of Volunteers of America which provides an opportunity for recycling of household goods within our community, and a low-cost alternative for low-income families to purchase such goods. The upkeep of the store is managed by AmeriCorps members, and inventory is supplied by donations.

Opportunities exist for food pantry recipients and others to receive vouchers for goods in return for volunteer service. The Community Closet operates as a vendor within a retail store, reducing costs and labor, and is helping to revitalize the Oshkosh community in its beautiful Main Street location.

The Community Closet is located at the Prairie Winds Collective building on Main Street in Oshkosh. The hours of operation are Wednesday - Saturday, 10:00am - 5:00pm.

We accept donations, including children's clothing, toys, books, dishes & cookware, electronics (in working condition), crafts, shoes, jewelry, furniture, bedding, and towels. All proceeds of The Community Closet benefit services of Volunteers of America - Western Nebraska.
