2011 Christmas Food Boxes
The 2011 – 2012 holiday giving season was a great success for Volunteers of America – Western Nebraska. Christmas food boxes were given out in large numbers, 105 to be exact, to area families on December 21 and 22, 2011. Local teachers Jamie McCulloch and Kim Cotton supervised 24 Garden County Junior High students as they worked to prepare and package the food boxes for distribution. This effort truly has a great place among the community as donations are received by local churches, area businesses, as well as private donations from the public.
“Recipients of the food boxes were more than grateful as this has been a particularly hard year.” Jean Jensen, President, Volunteers of America – Western Nebraska.
So, yet again Volunteers of America – Western Nebraska has experienced success in giving because of the generosity of our community’s private donors, churches, and businesses.
